What remains hidden in a raw smile? How do we purify ourselves from oppression? How do we feel about our feelings? Who or what is a kerâpi?

KERÂPİ \ KERÂP*: The meeting point of the utopia of “All is well and we’re smiling” with the bullying distopia where our emotions are manipulated.

KTV: The channel for perpetual broadcast of the Kerâp*’s efforts to communicate with us.

The Theology Program titled Müşlerin Hatırına, which constitutes the first contact of the project with the audience, focuses on exploring concepts such as belief, ritual and knowledge systems with the body.

The performance was an output of a six-day workshop, led by choreographer Sude İnce, and accompanied by Işıl Şimşek (stage designer for KTV) and Lena (Aleyna Torun) (sound designer), brought together artists from various disciplines in an experimental process of collectively constructing what repeats in space or time. The creative dancers; considering both kerâpis memory and the body as a ritual space, brought their own forms of expression together in a common choreographic narrative. This unity which was produced  through the encounters of body, movement, mask, sound and space regarding the dimension in which kerâpi breathes, shared its existence with the audience by leaping into our world at çakSTÜDYO based in İstanbul.
